Another distraction

This is fun:-

http://nine.frenchboys.net/

It almost makes me want to write a fantasy novel.
This description, under Character Description Creation, made me laugh...

"This delicate, depressed woman has stringy strawberry-blonde hair, grey-green eyes and a small tattoo. She wears a violet tank top." I want her in my novel!

Or this one...
"This man is burly, with small dark brown eyes and kinky bleach-blonde hair worn in a mohawk. He is wearing a brown sweater and seems vague." (He's probably just met the depressed woman and doesn't know what to say).

I was quite taken with the name Maudetta la Frostheim, in the Villainess Name Creator, too.

(Ok, Karen, step away from the computer. You have Christmas shopping to do and you're not even dressed. Ed.)

It's http://nine.frenchboys.net/.

I do love random generators- so useful and sometimes very funny.

I actually stumbled onto that site via Seventh Sanctum just a couple of days back, and have been enjoying the 'Plebey Review Generator'... which sadly fails to reach the depths of the static pre-pubescent nature of such reviews (what's even more depressing is the age of some of the folk who write them).

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks, Mike, I'm rubbish with the links. I'm sure there's a way to make them "come alive" or whatever, in the post itself, but I'm jiggered if I know what it is!

Ooh, that is such a good link - I got this:

This brown-haired, grey-green-eyed woman is a thief with a delicate build and heavy, plain face. She is gentle, and is interested in cooking and knitting.

I suppose the trick is to take the first or second character it throws up, rather than spending the whole morning generating a cast of thousands that are never sent to the real world? Oops.

This is all very well. A good list of fantasy names to be sure. But where are the french boys?

It will be all write said...

Thanks for your kind comments and insight into your similar experiences .....

Okay, you don't know me, but I had to comment and say "THANK YOU" for linking this name and character generator. I am writing a fantasy novel, and this is a great spark point for adding new characters into my stodgy old world.

You're welcome Mandifesto - I can see how it could actually be really useful!
