8 things

The lovely Laura Cassidy recently tagged me to reveal "8 things" so to take my mind off the fact that my daughter, having passed her driving test, is now trawling the highways in her first ever motor-vehicle, being cut up by shouty men in white vans, and that I still have a way to go before meeting my self-imposed June 26th deadline, I'm more than happy to oblige. Even though I should be writing. My novel.

*Warning - some of the answers may not be true (don't sue me)

8 Things I look forward to

Making a cake and eating it (all)
Settling down to read a book
Settling down to write a book
Saddling up my seahorse (Riley) and riding the waves on a hot summer's day
The audience response when I play my trombone with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (they often cry)
Playing in the sandpit with my meerkat, Thomas
Seeing my husband at the end of every day
Reading your blogs

8 Things I did yesterday

Combed my hair
Thought about claming my mortgage on expenses
Went to a Pampered Chef party and bought a bamboo spoon
Spoke to a policeman
Cleaned up dog sick
Wished upon a star
Wrote 1000 words
Removed a dead bird from the conservatory

8 Things I wish I could do

Sing
Dance
Fly
Make a cheesecake that didn't taste 'yuk'
Be 21 again and know what I know now
Get a novel published
Carry a moonbeam home in a jar
Build a time machine

8 Shows I watch

The Apprentice
America's Next Top Model
Lost
The Inbetweeners
Peep Show
Desperate Housewives
Mad Men
The Wright Stuff

And that's all folks!

I won't tag you in case you have tag fatigue, but do feel free to poach.

Can I come and play with your meetkat, Thomas? As long as he doesn't bite, I've seen them tearing apart mice. On second thoughts, maybe I'll just come and listen to you when you next play the Albert Hall!

I'm playing snap with your word count. As of the end of my lunch break I had 47,508 words!

denise - That's brilliant! I'm updating mine almost hourly at the moment - it's great to see it going up :o)

Oh fantastic answers Karen. How could I possibly poach and better your answers?

Let's hope post inspiration continues all week for me!

Ooh, maybe I could accompany you on the triangle (an ambition is to play the triangle in The Anvil Song) and we could make even more people cry??

Clarkey, I truly hope this one is true "Wrote 1000 words!" (I've had a wee thought (groan) in this novel you're writing could you not just introduce a character that has an obsession with blogging. Your word count would soar methinks ;-) I might just take up opera singing so I can join your band. :) Tommox

jj - I'm sure you could if you tried - I'd be interested to read them :o))

tam - The triangle has been known to evoke strong emotions - particularly in men :o)

tommo - That one is definitely true I'm happy to say :o) Any singing will do, doesn't have to be opera - or even in tune!

amanda - You might meet Riley one day - but he's a little shy :o)

nic - Ooh, thank you I'll pop over to yours :o))

I love meerkats, I want one too, and a sandpit.

I cleaned up dog sick the other morning - well, at about 3am, but that's still morning I suppose.

"Be 21 again and know what I know now."

A big yes to that!

I removed a dismembered bird from the sun-lounge today. (I'm waiting for the cat-sick to follow)

And I'll come and play double bass with your band, if you like.

Great answers but I'm curious where you would want to go in your time machine.

debs - We've floorboards and tiles everywhere, so why does she have to do it on the rug. Both rugs in fact?!

michelle - Ooh, I'd love that recipe - you might have to hand it over :o))

dumdad - Wouldn't it be grand?

jan jones - It must be kill-a-bird week! And you can play double bass as long as it's not in tune - I don't want you showing me up :o)

gonna be a writer - Ah, it's actually for a character in my novel! I've been reading up about time travel a lot this week - mind you I wouldn't mind going back to when my parents were young to see what they were really like :o)

Ah meerkats, just the business. One of my Jack Russel's stands on her two hind legs in long grass with her front paws bent in front of her as she looks around just like a meerkat. She makes me laugh so hard and breaks my heart with her utter cuteness. So I guess I sort of have a meerdog really!

I love meerkats. What an interesting life you do lead Mrs! :)

mob - A meerdog, how cute I like the sound of that :o) When Molly stands on her hind legs she's taller than me, but that's not saying much!

helenmh - If only t'were all true!!

(Taking every answer as gospel truth) Wish I had a rideable seahorse - would come in very handy on beach visits. And that would be one up on all those fancy pants boat owners. Ha! Could you please let me know where one would purchase, or how to tame, a seahorse.

Ta very muchly
Kat :-)

I think your 'get a novel published' wish may soon be very true. Cake all round!

Well done with the fabby word count.

Is that a new and very lovely Molly Dog picture or am I just unobservant?

Love your lists!!! I like the time machine idea!

katw - I'm afraid I've lost the manual on seahorse taming, so it'll have to remain a secret for now. You can buy them in Asda though :o))

lane - Cake will be the least of it!! And yes, that is a recent picture of Mollydog enjoying her daily walk :o))

bfs - Must admit I'd love a time machine :o)
